Praga 1Prague With a population of about 1.2 million inhabitants and situated on the banks of of the Moldova River, Prague is the capital and largest city in the Czech Republic.

Prague is in the western part of the Czech Republic in the centre of the historical region of Bohemia.

Prague is a cultural centre and boasts several theatres, opera houses, concert halls, galleries and music clubs. It's the seat of the most important offices and institutions in the Czech Republic, including the presidential office, the Government and both Parliament houses. The city hosts eight different universities and schools, including Charles University and the Czech Technical University established in 1707.

The subways, trams and buses are regularly used by two thirds of the city population and they serve most of the city areas and suburbs.

Praga 3The public transportation network consists of three subways serving about 55 stations, a 24/7 tram service that includes the famous number 91 "nostalgic tram" , an urbain bus network, two national train stations, a funicular to Petřin's hill, a chair lift close to Prague zoo, and three ferry lines that sail the Moldova.

With five departures every week during the low season and seven departures during the high season, Eurolines operates to Prague from most regions in Italy.
